Tragedy has struck because

Tragedy has struck because I can’t find my Rowan #31 in the midst of this painting mess so I don’t know if I ordered the exact right amount, but I just ordered the yarn to make this sweater. I still have some projects ahead in the queue but I love this and I’m tired of stockinette. I’m sure it’ll end up a 2003 sweater, it doesn’t look like a fast one. But I’m psyched.

I did work on the Maggie sweater last night and I’m done with one half of the divided front and started on the other. Hopefully I’ll be moving onto the sleeves by SnB tomorrow night. I’m a little concerned now that maybe I should have stuck with the size small, it’s looking a little big to me now. But oh, how much of a difference can 6 stitches make?

Busy weekend here. I

Busy weekend here. I spent 5 hours raking leaves yesterday in Kissena Park in Queens as part of Spring Clean Up Day that NY Cares sponsors. It was a great day and I made 3 new friends, who might come to the Stitch n Bitch and learn how to knit. Very exciting. There was a party after that, and then I had a date (I will not expound much on my dating life here, but oh, I have a crush) and today (what a GLORIOUS DAY out) I will meet friends in Central Park for our weekly jaunt around the loop. I am working on the Maggie sweater this morning since I woke up early for a change, and it’s coming along really nicely. Very pleased with the progress.

While surfing the blogs

While surfing the blogs I discovered that Erica is making the same Maggie sweater I am, but in a lovely moss green shade. I look forward to her progress as well as my own. I did some more today, and I’ve gotten to the division in the front and the armhole shaping. If all goes well, this sweater will be done in the next week or two.

Carolyn has posted some

Carolyn has posted some photos from the CBS segment on her amazing site. She’s even gone as far as labeling us in a couple of them. I don’t know what happened to the blow up of me, but I seem to have grown another nose. Honestly! It must be a weird screen thing, because I really don’t look like that, I swear.
So my friend Marney, whom I like to call the Monster I Created when it comes to knitting, has decided to put up her own blog. I guess she won’t be guest hosting here after all, but that’s OK, she was doing so much research for mine that it was a pity she didn’t have her own. So check out The World According to Marney. Like her knitting, she has gone full force into this too and put up an entire blog in a couple of hours. Way to go.

I did a bit more of the Maggie sweater last night but I got bored and started experimenting with some leftover cotton and trying some new stitches. Nothing lasted long enough to post here, I kept ripping it out. I think now that I’ve put painting aside for a few days, I’ll get back to Maggie and finish the front of it.
