I got a decent

Posted by jackie blue on June 6th, 2002

I got a decent amount of knitting done last night both during and post book club. The tank is coming along nicely and only a couple more inches before I get to the fun part of the Guernsey dress. I want to do cabling and lace and bobbles already.

Oh, and I *finally* got an email from eknitting.com that my Denim order has shipped! Yay! And there’s a package for me down in my building’s package room, I wonder if that’s it. I’ll have to go retrieve it today. Even if it is, I think I have to wait before starting the Surf sweater, I have too much going on at once.

I also answered an ad this morning from a woman looking for hand knitters to knit for a small company. If I’m going to stay unemployed, I might as well make a little money doing what I’d be doing anyway. I hope she calls back so I can find out more about it.

I have 100 more

I have 100 more pages to read for my book club tonight, so you know what I’ll be doing today. I read 60 when I got home from SnB last night, so it probably won’t be too much of a problem. But another knitting day lost.

I found out Stitches East registration is open and I’d really like to go. Problem is 1) not working for a year makes me hesitant to spend hundreds on a knitting weekend and 2) I’d need a roommate because I would not want to pay full price for a room. I’m leaning towards not going at this point but it sounds so fun so I’m tossed. Why can’t I just find some more freelance work!? Something has to give soon. Like me ending up waiting tables or something.

I think this really

I think this really needs to be a reading/cleaning day more than a knitting day. I have a book to finish for tomorrow night’s book club, and a pile of clothes on my chair that really needs to be hung up. Of course all I want to do is knit and relax, after a busy weekend and all.
Here’s what I did on the baby dress so far:

It’s kind of boring till you get to the top of it. It’s hard to tell in the photo but it has a nice seed stitch border. It also seems huge so far for a 2-3 year old, but I guess it’s because the dress flares at the bottom. I really want to work on this more than my tank, but I have to finish that so I have something to wear this summer. Little shopping in my future with no job again. Still no word from my interview…

First of all, A

First of all, A VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Betsy!! Hope you’re having a special day, girlfriend.

Bleary eyed at my Monday gig this morning, after a 3 a.m. return from a rockin’ Tony Party (see Marney’s World for details). It was some night, with much dancing and celebrating. I won’t elaborate further, let’s just say I had a good time.

It was especially nice to see Shetha this weekend. I hope she enjoyed her NYC visit and hanging with us NY Bloggers, and I’m looking forward to her host Susan coming to our Stitch n Bitch.

Although my Flame tank is not even close to done, I’ve started another project. We went to the Yarn Company this weekend and they had a sale, 20% off Debbie Bliss Wool Cotton, so I bought some in a dusty pink to make a Guernsey dress for my grand niece, who will be 2 in September. It’s the cutest dress, from the book Cotton Knits for All Seasons, and of course I needed to start that this weekend rather than finish my tank. The tank will make a good SnB project as it is just straight stockinette and takes little concentration. I expect I’ll work on that tomorrow night. Of course I still have to finish my book for my Wed. night book club…
