We had a fantastic weekend in the Poconos, despite Ty getting carsick on the way. He apparently hates cars, as he threw up in my backseat again this morning while I did the typical NYC move-the-car-around thing, looking for a legal spot to leave the car in. Poor thing, he needs Dramamine. But, the weekend was fab, with great weather, and swimming, a bit of sedate hiking, kayaking on the lake, and just hanging out and enjoying. Here’s a cute pic of me and Ty from the weekend.

oh, and knitting. I finished one Guernsey sleeve and started the second, and since I’m *finally* making it back to Stitch and Bitch tonight, I will hopefully finish it within the week. I am excited to return after a month away, between birthdays and baseball games keeping me from going.

Today I must work on some freelance design stuff. Ty looks upset I’m not playing with him. Oh well. Such is a dog’s life.

Between freelance work and social life and the dog, there hasn’t been much knitting lately. I hope that will change this weekend, when I go to a cabin in the Poconos with friends, and there probably isn’t much to do at night so maybe I’ll get this Guernsey dress done once and for all.

I had a dream about some great knitting store last night, except I couldn’t find anything I wanted in it. And I think it was in Brooklyn, though I was vacationing in Italy. Pretty bizarre dreams happening here.

Well, must get back to work here. I have more than my share of things to get done today before I leave tomorrow morning. Including get my car, which is an hour away from where I live. What a pain.

Well, the long holiday

Well, the long holiday weekend was a weather washout, and not even so long for me since I had to work yesterday. I had some good times though, getting back into the walking routine in Central Park that my friends and I do during the non-90 degree months, and I had a great time at the Metropolitan Museum of Art with Marney on Sunday, not for work this time but to see the Impressionist exhibit. I loved the old New York photographs as well, possibly even more.

The Guernsey sleeve is coming along but since I have to miss Stitch n Bitch tonight *yet again*, I have to make it a point to work on it today. It’s a friend’s birthday tonight and I was called away to dinner. I miss knitting but dammit, I will be there next week no matter what.

Ty the dog is doing fairly well though he is about to start a regimen of crate training since he likes to pee in my apartment when alone for 5 hours or more. I hate crates but people have convinced me he’ll love it and it will be great. We’ll see about that. So far he shows little interest and is conking out on my sofa as we speak.
