I’m hoping to make

Posted by jackie blue on October 8th, 2002

I’m hoping to make it to SnB tonight. I got stuck working today, and tomorrow, and I’ve spent no time with the poor doggie. We went to the dog run briefly this morning and he got attacked by an overzealous female dog that wanted to play and turned on him when he wouldn’t comply. There was a pile-on with several others and my poor little guy was at the bottom, yelping, while she was all over biting him. He wasn’t hurt, thank god, but shaken up. Her owner grabbed her fairly quickly and took her out of the run, but now I think my poor needs some TLC tonight. If I can get out of work early enough and spend an hour or so with him, I’ll go to SnB for awhile. It shouldn’t be too late a night since Marney won’t be going and she and I are always the last ones out.

I might be ordering some of that alpaca I picked up over the weekend for my mother, who wants to knit a throw. They have a nice rust color that should be good for her place.

Weekend was great, filled

Weekend was great, filled with apple picking, craft store shopping (got some GREAT Alpaca yarn, cheap) and hanging with friends. This week is shaping up to be a busy one, working the next 3 days and out every night – my poor dog is going to be so lonely without me around 24/7 as I usually am.

Got a bit more done on the Caterpillar as well as trying to figure out what stitch pattern to use on an alpaca scarf – the stuff is fuzzy so a lot of stitches don’t show up well. But I don’t want a plain scarf. Oh, and a dilemma re: the Caterpillar sweater – I decided it’s really way longer than I like. I hate long sweaters, really, unless they are open cardigans. But if I start the armhole shaping a lot sooner, I will have to adjust the sleeves to have the color stripe pattern match up properly. It will take some figuring out, but I will probably end it a good 10cm short, if not more.

Oh, and Knit Out sucked. That’s all I have to say on that subject.

Thanks for your kind

Thanks for your kind words on the stripey sweater. Now, imagine it all glittery and that’s what it is. Last night I spent time rolling together more of the yarns that have to be paired up, to make it a bit easier and not have 5 or 6 skeins hanging off the needles at once.

Today is a great, bleak, knitting day but I’m not sure I can even muster up the energy to do that. I seem to be sick. I thought it was a major allergy attack yesterday, but no, I think it’s a cold. I took Nyquil last night and it’s rendered me useless this morning. I feel like a truck hit me, but today I can breathe better. So maybe it’s just a short lived cold. I hope so, since I am going apple picking tomorrow. But now, all I want to do is lie in bed.

This is the progress

This is the progress I’ve made so far in 2 days. It’s about a third of the back already. You can’t really see how sparkly it is in the photo, although this photo is more accurate than the photo in Rowan #32.
