It’s TAX DAY for

Posted by jackie blue on March 26th, 2003

It’s TAX DAY for me! Ewww. I used to always get fat refunds but in my new life as a freelancer, this year is going to hurt. Bad. Oh well, I’m going to knit on the way to the accountant. Or should I say, unknit. I’m such an idiot, I completely skipped a cable row on the Surf, and I have to undo about 7 lines. I guess worse things can happen.

Today is one of the most beautiful weather days ever in NYC. Sunny, breezy, in the 50s, just glorious. And yet, I am stuck in my windowless office all day. And it’s painfully slow today, so I’m working on the Surf sweater. I really have to get my act together and knit something for my new grandniece or nephew, due next month. But I might just wait till he/she is born to style something appropriately. Not that I’m into baby pink or blue, I’m not the type. And although I’ll get a good deal done today on this, I’d really like to go to SnB tonight to do some more. It’s been SO long! But, I have homework for Thurs. I haven’t done yet, and tomorrow will be spent getting my car inspected, getting my taxes done at the accountant, on a date in the evening. So, I might just have to forego again. We’ll see. I wonder if anyone there remembers who I am.

Well, back to knitting. I really wish I could just sit outside in the park and knit all day.

Well last night was

Well last night was fun, gathering with friends to watch a more interesting than usual Oscars and I won half the pool, as well. Not a bad way to spend the evening, not at all. I took pride in getting most of the surprise winners right, though I have to say, I never expected Roman Polanski to win. It was certainly a night of some controversy, though not all that shocking. Didn’t we know that Michael Moore would have something very blatant to say? Maybe we didn’t expect as many boos though.

Knitting, that’s what this blog is about, right? I seem to manage to do one line of the Surf sweater in each direction of my short work commute. Hmm. 2 lines a day, I just might have the sweater done by the time I’m 93. I need to set aside an hour or so of each day to just devote to knitting. It’s a challenge learning how to budget my time.

Other than that, not much to say. I’ve entered into a regimen of watching what I eat and exercising as often as possible. It’s amazing that I didn’t devour any of the chocolate at my friend’s last night, and I am very diligently avoiding the next room in my office right now, where a plethora of baked treats and candy are sitting on a counter calling my name. I am determined to get into Spring shape.

Some people have too

Some people have too much time on their hands. But oh, it is so brilliant.
