No knitting to report

No knitting to report today. But I have Generation 80s Retro blasting on my iTunes, I’m cranking away at HTML, I had a bird on my shoulder earlier (my seldom talked about Kelly) and a dog at my feet, and despite being stuck inside on a gorgeous day, I couldn’t help but think…life is pretty good sometimes. Even with problems around…strained relationships, lack of work and money, a general unsettledness, I think things are going pretty OK. When old windows close, new ones open. I have some good new people in my life, some good old friends, old friends coming back, a pretty good stream of work now even though I could use more, and I think I look pretty good lately since my eating lifestyle has changed. And that feels pretty good.

I’m on the 5th

I’m on the 5th square now. I thought it would go a bit faster, but I’ve had to undo several lines several times. I guess my head is in the clouds lately and I lose track of what row I’m on. I’m using a counter now, stolen off another project. Hopefully I’ll keep track easier now. Anyway, seems the rest of the yarn on order isn’t in yet. Not to worry, I have enough to keep me busy for quite awhile.

Well, the movie the other night was entertaining, but I don’t recommend it if you haven’t seen the first or you don’t know all the characters from the comic books. I was kind of lost. Backstory is important. But it was a fun night anyhow.

Today is really slow till late afternoon (as usual) so not much excitement to report. I’m gonna keep on knitting.

I’ve got two and

I’ve got two and a half squares done and I hope to do more tonight. The trick is to get my freelance work done during day hours so I don’t feel guilty about stopping tonight and knitting. Here it is, a gorgeous day, and I’m inside doing HTML. Blech.

I’m hoping for a nice tomorrow so I can go walking in the park with a friend or two, and I also have a birthday picnic there if the weather cooperates. We’ll see. We are expecting thunderstorms. I hope it isn’t one of those spring/summers where it’s beautiful all week and then nasty every weekend. We had one of those a couple of years ago and it depressed the hell out of me. I’m one of those people who simply must have outdoor time on a regular basis, or I feel like I will wither and die.

Tomorrow night I’m going to see the second X-Men movie. This is not my usual cup of tea where movies are concerned. But, it could be a good time. I keep an open mind. I’m assuming I won’t suffer greatly having missed the first one. If anything, a pre-Cinco de Mayo dinner and drinks will certainly be fun after the movie.

Well, have a good weekend everyone.
