Tuesday Bloody Tuesday

Posted by jackie blue on July 15th, 2003

I’m afraid this entry will be Knitting Lite again. I had a pretty busy weekend, and little to no knitting time. The weather was superb this weekend, and though I skipped the beach, I did manage to spend a lot of park time. Saturday I went to the park with my walking buddy and did the loop, Sunday Joe and I just vegged and listened to the Guitar Man who is always really enjoyable.

Yesterday was a really hectic day at work. We are short some people and so much of the work falls on me. After a whole day of busting my butt here, I went home and worked on some freelance work. So, I guess my knitting is taking a bit of a backseat, though I will work on some today during slow points.

In other news, just how fucked up is this? I think it’s a pretty sad state of affairs in this country if women need money this badly and are willing to subject themselves to pain and humiliation. I’m gonna thank my lucky stars I do not have to even consider it.

Procrastination Times Two

I said I was going to knit yesterday right? Well, I started to. But distraction won once again. In good news, I did get that freelance gig and have to draw up a contract today. VERY glad about that.

Also yesterday, Ayelet and I made an aborted attempt at a park walk, only be be poured on once we got there. Silly us.

This weekend should be a good one, I have a mah jongg game tonight (no, I’m not 80 years old) and then tomorrow night is a Loser’s Lounge Tribute to Serge Gainsbourg which should be fun. Hopefully the weather will comply and I can fit in some beach or park time. And knitting. Oh yeah, knitting.

I’m losing my motivation again. I knit about 10 stitches yesterday and then got distracted. I’d put in a bid for freelance work and the potential client seemed very interested in me but now after the quote, I haven’t heard back. I hope I’m still being considered. It’s so frustrating and heartbreaking, I mean, I do good work and I’m just trying desperately to make a living but everyone wants something for practically free. I see hourly quotes for extensive experience that rival the salaries at Fast Food joints and I just want to cry. I often do.

My intention for today is to knit knit knit with a break for the gym. Trying to decide if I want to take an aquatics class in an hour. Nah. I don’t seem to get my energy till afternoon. I wish that wasn’t the case.

Heading for Square 24 shortly.

Progress So Far

I think I’m going to have to go to 36 squares.

I’d better get to knitting again. Meanwhile, here’s what I have sewn together so far.

This is 12 squares.
