Mindy tagged me (and I was so bad about filling out the movie meme when I was last tagged, sorry about that) so here I go with this one:

1. Do you knit continental or English?
I knit like no one else. It’s a weird version of Continental – but I hold the yarn so differently than anyone I’ve seen. And I wrap rather than pick. But I’m left handed, so little of what I do makes sense, it just works out to look good, so who cares?

2. How long ago did you learn to knit?
When I was about 15, so what, 25 years ago? Wow, that’s a long time.

3. First FO?
I’m not even 100% sure it was this, but I think it was a cotton, 2 tone, geometric sweater from Vogue Knitting. So 80s. Pink and white. It’s still around, in my mother’s closet.

4. Favorite yarn?
Impossible question! I love so many. I love Classic Elite Tryst cashmere but I’ve never used it because it’s soooo expensive. I love the Socks that Rock yarn for socks, and the new Knitpicks merino is so soft and lovely that’s becoming a favorite too.

5. Favorite pattern?
Another tough one. I really liked Chicknits Ribby Cardi because it was so quick and easy, and fits so well.

6. Favorite pattern source?
Rowan, hands down. Phildar a close second, and Rebecca is moving up on the charts.

7. Favorite needles?
I use Addi Turbos exclusively.

8. Nicest thing you’ve ever knit?
I’m quite fond of my Phildar cabled hoodie.

9. Most hated project?
The finished result is gorgeous but my Caterpillar sweater was MURDER to work on, 15 colors stranded together different ways in teeny stripes, ack. Tangle city.

10. Who are you going to pass this on to?
I think everyone has gotten this already. If you’re reading it and you haven’t, consider yourself tagged, and leave a link in my comments so I can read yours too.

Yes, that Phildar cabled hoodie of yours is a favorite of mine, too. :)

you know what. i knit the same way! and i too have never seen someone else knit like that. i’m right-handed but i did teach myself so that probably has a lot to do with it.

Hey–I knit continental but wrap as well. But, I am WICKED slow. (On a good day I tell myself that I’m a zen knitter–on a bad one? Too freaking slow.) I can force myself to pick but I really have to pay attention. I “re-taught” (is that right?) after about 18 years of not knitting so maybe it is the whole teach yourself thing.
