They can have the Olympics, we don’t want them!

What do you get when you release three knitters in the city of Paris? Well, a lot of wandering and sightseeing, good conversation, good food, and lots of knitting related activity. We had a great time last week. Becky and her husband were very sweet to make this possible so a big public Thank You to both of them.

And what a treat to get to know Bonne Marie for a week. Let me tell you, she’s not only an extremely talented knitter and designer, she’s one of the coolest chicks I know.

Both of them have started really cool wrap ups of our trip. So visit them!

We did a lot, the requisite museums (Louvre and D’Orsay, my favorite) and the religious monuments (Sacre-Coeur) and B-M found this amazingly cool flea market at Port de Vanves that was a treat for a crafts person. But oh, I’ll save my purchases for another post. We walked a LOT. I love roaming side streets in neighborhoods and getting off the tourist path.

Highlights for me were:
givernyflowers.jpgGiverny. The flowers are just extraordinary and awe inspiring. Monet was such the master of color and it shows even in the floral arrangements in his garden. I’d paint every day if I had this to look at.
tavernehenri.jpgLunch with a NY friend of mine, Lucy, and her travel companion. They happened to be there the same week. We went to Taverne Henri IV, a lovely little wine bar on the Ile de la Cite, by the Pont Neuf.

Paris Tricot. On Thursday during the day we met up with lovely knitters Isabelle, Laetitia, and Urraca, and went shopping for yarn. We had a nice lunch too, then retreated to our apartment for some knitting, and then to Paris Tricot for more knitting! What more can you ask for?

Dinner with Kate and Kayla. We didn’t get to dine with them after Paris Tricot so we met up again on Friday night and Kate took us to her favorite restaurant which was conveniently right by our apartment. The food, the wine, heavenly, and the company, delightful!

More tomorrow!

Wow not only did I suck up the flash as always but I damn I have cleavage and a glowing necklace now :)

I am so glad you waited for me at dinner and I had an absolutely lovely time!

Come back any time.

Hi from Madrid, Jackie. It was nice meeting you in Paris.

It’s a pity I didn’t realize then you knew Valentina so well. We could have gossiped about her ;-)

Aie! Nice face, Kate. ugh. Why are my eyes NEVER open for a photo? And I’m making what Frog and I call “poop face”. You could have replaced my face with Emmanuelle Béart’s or something.

Kate is lying…she’s cute as hell, even when she’s trying to get in a nap while someone fiddles with the camera ;-) Sounds like you all had a wonderful time…can’t wait to see the shopping evidence :-)
