I don’t call, I don’t write, I don’t pop in here with a finished Reliefs tank. I DID start the second side, I swear. But the stuff is such a pain to work with that I haven’t been inspired the past week. But that doesn’t mean I haven’t been knitting – I have. I decided I wanted to start a tank out of the Phil Lin I bought. But the problem was, that tank needed to be on 4mm needles. The only 4mm Addis I have were taken up by Deli, that Cash Cotton cardi. So, I needed to at least finish the second front piece of that to temporarily free up my needles. Of course I could have bought another pair, but bear with me, this is called “drumming up a reason to work on a project”.

So, that piece was finished on Sunday and I started the Phil Lin tank at a gathering of the F Train Girls on the Q Line.
Exciting, isn’t it? This is the back. Straight ribbing to the armholes. Doesn’t get much more exciting than this.

I think I may have inspired a new knitter though. A enthusiastic teen or very young 20s (who can tell anymore? I’m getting that old) sat down next to me on the subway yesterday and asked me about my knitting and before I knew it, I was telling her all about the Stitch n’ Bitch book and getting her really psyched to learn knitting. Yay!

Ah, a knitting evangelical–I like it!

So, is there really an NY knitting group that meets on the subway? Hmm, I gotta get me one of those.

I’m seriously impressed that you snagged a potential convert in this weather! Wow.

That is such a lovely shade of pink–it’s going to look gorgeous on you.

Well done on the potential convert. Since I started knitting in public several people have expressed a wish to start knitting again so I am hoping for a few born again knitters to pop up around my way when the weather cools down – not that it will stop me knitting in the meantime!

F Train Girls on the Q? I love it!
